Services

Available for online and in-person sessions

Namratha only uses reward-based and positive training techniques. Services include puppy/adult dog obedience training, behaviour modification programs to work through aggression/reactivity, and undesirable behaviours such as anxiety, fussy eating, jumping and others. She also trains dogs for scentwork and agility!

Please read through the following policies thoroughly (updated Jan 2022)

1. Each session (1 hour long) is Rs. 1800.

2. You can choose to pay session by session, or avail any of the two packages offered below:

  •  4 sessions : Rs. 6,600
  •  8 sessions : Rs. 12,000

3. I recommend:

  • For puppies under a year old, I recommend the 8 session package, committing to at least 1 or 2 sessions a week.
  • For behaviour or aggression cases, the number and frequency of sessions vary greatly.

4.  The first session is always at my home in Panjim city. Subsequent sessions are at the family’s home or other locations that we mutually decide on.

5. Last minute cancellations are understandable, and sessions can be rescheduled on a case-to-case basis. No-shows will be charged the full rate.

Please write to me for training queries and concerns.

How does online training work? (updated Jan 2022)

  • Sessions are conducted on Zoom, Google Meet or Whatsapp video calls. I will have my own demo dog with me to walk you through your body language, commands, timing of treats etc.
  • The main challenge of online sessions is that I am not there in person to observe the dog and understand her temperament. To work around this, I ask for a lot of videos before and after sessions e.g –  ask someone to take 1-min video when on a walk so I can see you and the dog, film your dog when the door bell rings, send me 2 videos during play time with your family, send me a video of a 1 min stay in your building lobby etc.
  • Dog training is all about building a relationship, a communication channel between you and your dog. Sessions, both in person and online, focus on teaching the humans, you, how to train, read and understand your dog.  The knowledge and experiences in these sessions will last a lifetime (provided you practice and remain consistent!), much beyond those few hours of training sessions.  This is which is why online sessions work well.

My dog Bruno, have not seen him yet , he is with my son in gaziabad. He got hurt n needs treatment. My son is doing everything for him but can’t manage.
I want to bring him to pune for the treatment.
Bringing by air is very costly . By road , train … don’t know how .. my son said , ” I don’t want to give him to any adoption agency, since his leg is not well. We will take care of him ”

Hi Manjiri, I would recommend you discuss your options with the vet. They are in the best position to recommend treatment and potential transportation options if needed. If the vet suggests that you absolutely need to transport Bruno to Pune, then I am happy to talk to you more about my experiences (and put you in touch with people) in plane and train. I hope Bruno gets well soon!

Hi, I’ve a 2yrs old male Indian Spitz with a lot of aggression and behavioural issues. He barks and lunges towards our guests, kids in his sight, pigeons and other dogs on the road. Starts barking excessively when the doorbell rings. He has also bitten a girl. He is a perfect pet with the family members but with any other stranger he totally loses his cool. Could you please help because it’s causing a lot of distress in our family!

Hi my mother has a rescued dog who is about 6 years old and is an Indian breed. He basically was picked off the street with several broken bones. He is an extremely scared since puppyhood. He is friendly but could never be toilet trained and off late it’s got much worse. He pees 4-5 times inside the house everyday despite going for walks twice. He also poops on days when it is thundering. I wanted to check is training possible ? My mother is getting old and it’s very hard for her. The whole day she’s cleaning his mess and I live abroad.
